Clàr is a weekly arts workshop for 14 - 25 year olds with a focus on technology and digital media.
We are run by An Lanntair in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, where we regularly meet on Wednesday evenings between 4 - 7pm. It’s free and open to everyone, but you need to book a place in advance on the An Lanntair website.
We work on a few long term projects over the course of the year, with an event or public showcase at the completion of the project. People who attend are free to focus on whatever element of the project they are interested in, this could be anything from 3d modelling to lighting design, music production and animation. Our resident workshop leader, Robbie Thomson, is a practicing artist with years of experience working with art, music and technology, and is there to help you learn the skills to bring your ideas to life - whatever your experience level.
From time to time we also host special one-off sessions with guest artists focus on a particular area, in the past these have included DJs, musicians and even a laser artist!
We work closely with the brilliant technicians at An Lanntair where there are always opportunities available to gain first hand experience working alongside our team in sound, lighting and video.
Please get in touch with Robbie via email if you have any questions or would like to get involved.
Clàr thanks An Lanntair, The Gannochy Trust and Creative Scotland for their generous support
