Director Ciaran Lyons will lead a masterclass session that provides participants with new storytelling tools for approaching filmmaking. Learn about the role of the director, script analysis, working with actors, creating narrative focus and empathy and aesthetic considerations around shot choices.

This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in drama and film making and is open to all experience levels. 

Ciaran Lyons is a Scottish-Irish writer-director based in Glasgow. He aspires to make films that feel like modern fairytales. He has a background in DIY visual effects, and a focus on unconventional, genre filmmaking.

Ciaran’s narrative work has received a BAFTA Scotland nomination for Best Short Film, and has played at international festivals including Slamdance, Palm Springs, Frightfest, and London Short Film Festival. His debut feature Tummy Monster is playing at festivals now, including official selections at Austin, Glasgow and Leiden Film Festivals.
