Join us for a two day collaborative workshop building a large scale kinetic sculpture, with a showing of the work on Friday evening.

Using scrap parts we’ll construct a moving artwork that is animated by electric motors, lighting and sound. We will learn hands on mechanical, electronic and metalwork techniques for bringing sculptures to life, how this can be automated and how we can interact with our creations.

Throughout the session we’ll check out artists such as Jean Tinguley, who pioneered the art machine, and also find out how contemporary artists are pushing things forward in the integration of art and technology.
