Miss Irenie Rose
Irenie’s unique sound comes from her expansive use of voice – her extremely catchy and playful sense of melody is layered over lush close harmonies and beatboxing, in a delicate blend of pop and folk with lyrics ranging from the personal to the gently humorous.
Her career to date has seen her playing festivals across the country as well as multiple TV and radio appearances. She’s shared a stage with many respected names in the contemporary folk scene, been nominated for best newcomer in the Scottish Alternative Music Awards and also reached the semi-finals of the Radio 2 Young Folk Musician of the Year Awards.
During the workshop we’ll take a close look at a cornerstone of Irenie’s music, the loop pedal, and experiment with ways of composing live as a group. The workshop is open to singers and performers of all styles and abilities, we also encourage those with an interest in sound engineering and production to come and get involved.
